Miller Developments - Industrial Development - St Neots, Eaton Socon
Date: 09 Jan 2003
Miller Developments is stepping up its warehouse and distribution development programme and has formed a joint venture with Central & Provincial Properties to build a 8.1 ha (20-acre) business park in Eaton Socon, St Neots, Cambs.
The site, which is known as Alpha Park, has outline planning consent for 85,468 sq (320,000 sq ft) of B1,B2 and B8 and is located at the junction of the A1 and A428 St Neots to Cambridge Road.
Miller Developments purchased the site from Tesco which had been trying to obtain a retail planning consent.
Nick Harris, director in charge of industrial development at Miller Developments, believes that the park's excellent location will prove popular with warehouse and distribution companies. "There is a shortage of good quality sites in Cambridgeshire and given Alpha Park's good road links and accessible local labour force, I am confident it will become one of the region's leading business parks," he comments.
Robin Archer, managing director of Central & Provincial, adds: "We intend to be flexible in our approach to occupiers and will be able to offer new buildings on a fast track basis on a freehold or leasehold basis from 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft) upwards."
King Sturge advised Tesco and has been retained as letting agent with Barker Storey Matthews.
