Kier Property - Retail Development - Plymouth, Crownhill Retail Park
Date: 05 Feb 2003
Kier Property has won planning consent for a 650sq m (7,000sq ft) A1 retail unit for the sale of bulky goods on its highly successful Crownhill Retail Park at Tavistock Road, Plymouth.
Kier Property director, Nigel Turner, said: “We have consent for a leisure and restaurant outlet on this site but there has been considerable interest from retailers that sell bulky goods and therefore, the revised consent gives us greater flexibility to let it. This puts us one step nearer to completing the scheme and the unit is available on either a freehold or leasehold basis.”
Other occupiers on the park include Pizza Hut, which opened at Crownhill, its third outlet in Plymouth, in November last year. It joined KFC, and B&Q, occupier of the largest retail warehouse store in the South West, with its 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) building and 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) garden centre.
The development also includes the complete reinstatement of the 350-year old Devonport Leat, which supplied Plymouth with drinking water in Sir Francis Drake’s day.
Commercial agents, Havills, advised Kier Property.
