Kilmartin Property Group - Retail Development - Edinburgh, Cameron Toll Shopping Centre
Date: 10 Feb 2003
Following an extensive public consultation exercise, a planning application is being submitted by the Cameron Toll Limited Partnership (CTLP, comprised of Edinburgh based Kilmartin Property Group and Portfolio Holdings) for a major reconfiguration of the north entrance to Edinburgh's Cameron Toll Shopping Centre. The proposal represents a further investment of £25 million, and will create more shops, a health club with a swimming pool and a new restaurant, as well as significantly improve the Lady Road entrance to the Centre.
The application follows the recent announcement of a £12m refurbishment to Sainsbury's at Cameron Toll, to create its flagship store in Scotland. These works are now well under way and Sainsburys plan to relaunch its new store in May 2003.
Speaking on behalf of CTLP, Alan Mitchell of Kilmartin Property Group said:
"This combined investment of £37m is evidence of the Cameron Toll's ongoing success and testament to the confidence of the owners and the retailers. The development, which will raise the profile of the centre and attract high quality operators, will provide a huge boost to the area and create a superior facility for shoppers and the local community"
