Date: 12 Feb 2003
Slough Estates plc have been granted detailed planning consent for a new 11,612 sq m (125,003 sq ft) headquarters distribution facility at Phase 300 of the Southern Cross Distribution Park at Nursling Industrial Estate, Southampton.
The building has been designed with modern distribution needs in mind and can be constructed to occupiers specific requirements within a relatively short timescale. The scheme benefits from 7 dock levellers and 3 grade loading doors and 30 lorry parking spaces.
The site, which totals 2.27 hectares (5.6 acres), is joined at the intersection of the M27 and M271 and is within 4 miles of the M3, giving access to the national motorway network.
Robert Large of Slough Estates noted “there is no other opportunity in the Greater Southampton area able to accommodate this size of warehouse in the timeframe we can achieve at Southern Cross. The location could not be better with the excellent motorway access and proximity to Southampton Docks”.
