Kier Group - Industrial Development - Raunds, Warth Park

Date: 07 Mar 2003

Kier Warth has submitted a detailed planning application to East Northamptonshire Council for 12 distribution and production units at its 76 acre (30 hectare) development at Warth Park, Raunds in Northamptonshire.

The scheme comprises a 250,000sq ft (23,250sq m) national distribution centre building together with a self-contained development of 11 smaller units ranging in size from 2,500sq ft (233sq m) to 9,000sq ft (837sq m) to suit local businesses.

Warth Park adjoins the A45, connecting with junction 13 of the A14 two miles to the north. To the south, the A45 provides rapid dual carriageway access to Wellingborough, Northampton and junction 15 of the M1.

Kier Warth spokesman, Nigel Turner, said: “We have submitted an application to create a development that will provide accommodation for small to medium sized local businesses. The scheme also includes a national distribution centre unit for an occupier with a significant property requirement. Both the smaller units and the larger unit have already attracted strong interest as we are able to offer them at extremely competitive rates.”

Nigel Turner concluded: “The first phase of this major distribution park has already been built out to provide a 320,000sq ft (29,728sq m) regional distribution centre for GDA Hotpoint, which is now fully operational.”

Kier Warth is a joint venture between Kier Group plc and Northants-based Warth Property. Kier Warth is represented by Holley Blake, Cushman Wakefield Healey and Baker and Northampton-based Drake & Partners.
