Humberts - Industrial Development - Lincoln Factory Expansion

New factory for expanding Lincoln engineering company
A growing Lincoln based precision engineering company operating in a niche market has moved into a new factory which more than doubles the size of its former premises.
Delta Engineering (Lincoln) Limited formed just eighteen months ago by Lincoln diesel engineer Steve Taylor, his wife Madeliene, another director and works manager Derek Reynolds and members of staff, has recently secured valuable new contracts which triggered the need to expand into larger premises, invest in new plant and take on new staff.
The firm and its team of eleven have moved into a 9,500 sq ft factory on Exchange Close, secured for them by agents Humberts, just a short distance from the 4,000 sq ft unit they have vacated.
"We needed bigger premises after recently securing new contracts including the manufacture of specialist high technology pumps for a supplier to the marine and water industries. Fortunately we have not had to move very far," said Steve Taylor, Delta Engineering's managing director.
As part of a £1/2 million investment, the company has also installed a state-of-the-art CNC machining centre and taken on another member of staff. "I would expect to take on two or three more staff this year to meet our growing order book," said Mr Taylor. New offices are also being developed at the new site.
In addition to manufacturing precision marine pumps, Delta Engineering carries out general engineering and is a supplier to several local and regional companies.
"We are a city of engineers with a strong engineering history and I believe we have a good healthy future in engineering to look forward to," said Mr Taylor.
"The premises which we have acquired for Delta Engineering at Exchange Close are ideal for their purposes and afford them room to expand. To secure these premises for Delta Engineering took us only six weeks after they had been on the market with another Lincoln agent for more than six months without success," said James Cameron of Humberts Commercial Department at Lincoln.
