Date: 06 Jun 2003

Rushbond plc, the Leeds-based regional developer and investment company, has announced the completion of the first phase of its Hawthorn Park office development in North Leeds.

Comprising four self-contained detached properties, the 40,000 sq ft first phase has already attracted its first occupier, with Allenbuild taking 16,000 sq ft following its relocation from Cross Hills, and there is strong interest in the remaining three buildings.

Designed by award-winning architects, Carey Jones, the high specification contemporary offices incorporate extensive glazing, full access raised floors, impressive sculpted glazed entrance areas, feature atriums with balconies, flexible open plan accommodation and excellent car parking provision.

Situated within an extensive mature woodland setting, the business park combines a superb environment with excellent accessibility. Only 10 minutes drive out of Leeds City Centre the location also offers easy access to Junction 46 of the M1 and the A64 York Road.

Commenting on the launch of phase one, Tim Reeve, director of Rushbond plc commented;

“When planning Hawthorn Park, it was our intention to create the best business park in Leeds and we certainly believe the development’s location and architecture will ensure it is competing for that accolade.”

Confirming the high level of interest being shown in the scheme, Rupert Lowe, Head of Office Agency at Eddisons said, “Further to the news that Allenbuild has taken one of the buildings, we hope to be able to announce the identity of our second occupier very shortly.”
