Forsters - Industrial Development - Thurrock, London Gateway

Mayfair firm, Forsters has been appointed to act for Thurrock Council following a tendering exercise in relation to the scheme by P&O and Shell for the former Shellhaven Refinery at Stanford-Le-Hope in Essex, now known as London Gateway (and presently the subject of a planning inquiry). The development will provide a major road and rail linked logistics centre comprising 10 million square feet of commercial floor space and a new port. Forsters' role will be to give strategic advice to the Council on the structuring of the Section 106 and 278 Agreements that will underpin the development.
Commenting on the instruction, Michael Cunliffe, who will be advising the Council, said:
