Akeler - Offices Development - East Midlands, Carlton Park Business Park

Akeler is to develop new headquarter offices for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust in a deal agreed with Alliance & Leicester Estates.

The 73,000 sq ft (6,781 sq m) property will house approximately 350 people over three floors and be built on land at Carlton Park Business Park, a 52.8 acre park which is already home to Alliance & Leicester's customer service centre.

Subject to planning consent being granted, work is anticipated to start on site in spring 2004, with completion in summer 2005. Akeler will purchase the land from Alliance & Leicester Estates and complete the design and build of the scheme before letting the development to Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. Capita Property Consultancy and Edward Symmons & Partners are advising Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

The deal is the latest in a long line of 'build to suit' projects for Akeler, the most recent being the completion of headquarter premises in Basildon for Visteon, formerly part of Ford. The Carlton Park site on which the development will stand has already become one of the most successful business parks in the area, accommodating over 1,800 employees at present.
