Chantrey Welcomes Hilton Hotel Signing at Discovery Dock, Canary Wharf.

Hilton have announced the signing of an agreement to operate a new 272 room, 4 star, full-service hotel at Discovery Dock, Canary Wharf, Capital & Provident's 2 million sq ft flagship development in London Docklands.

Development consultants and project managers, Chantrey Davis have finalised the £60 million construction package for this, the second phase of Discovery Dock which will also include 152 waterfront apartments, shops, amenities and space for offices.

The Hilton hotel will cater for the Canary Wharf area's burgeoning corporate market with a conference suite, 10 meeting rooms, a full service restaurant, a Caffe Cino coffee shop and a Living Well leisure club.

Meanwhile the £38 million phase 1 construction contract awarded to Shepherd Construction, is forging ahead on programme. This is due to deliver 192, Chantrey Davis designed, luxury waterfront apartments, a restaurant and amenities by March 2005.

Chantrey Davis have already submitted a planning application for phase 3, Discovery Dock. Appointed architects and project managers, the application comprise an impressive 32 storey residential apartment and hotel landmark tower, together with a 25 storey office building
