Nelson Bakewell - Mixed-Use Development - Feltham, The Centre

Thornfield Properties plc today took a step closer to its major regeneration plans for Feltham, when it announced the purchase of The Centre in Feltham from GE Real Estate for £10.25m.

The Centre, a mid-1960’s mixed-use retail and office scheme currently forms the heart of Feltham Town Centre in Hounslow, the whole of which is to be comprehensively re-developed by Thornfield in conjunction with the London Borough of Hounslow. This £90m project will be seen as one of the most innovative town centre regeneration schemes to be carried out by a developer in London, to date.

Thornfield’s new scheme proposals are to include: -

• 250,000 sq ft of retail to be anchored by Matalan.
• 80,000 sq ft ASDA Wal-Mart store.
• 12,000 sq ft A3 units
• Over 800 new homes in a mix of private and affordable ‘key worker’ tenures
• 115 bedroom Travel Lodge hotel
• 22,000 sq ft NHS Medical Centre
• 15,000 sq ft of new offices
• 18,000 sq ft Council Library and Community Centre
• 4,500 sq ft Day Nursery
• Over 700 shopper’s car parking spaces.

With over 80% of the retail space already pre-let, Thornfield are working towards a start on site in the spring of this year.
