Monk Dunstone Associates - Leisure Development - Bangor, Penrhyn Castle

Date: 20 Jan 2004

Monk Dunstone Associates (MDA) has been selected as the cost consultant on The National Trust's £100,000 re-roofing and structural repair works to the Grand Lodge at Penrhyn Castle, near Bangor, North Wales.

The castle is the most visited National Trust facility in North Wales and, in its last financial year, increased its visitor numbers by over 50%. It also provides vital employment to the local area.

Adrian Walton, associate director in charge of MDA’s Manchester office, said: “This is an important project to the people of North Wales and the necessary restoration works on this Nineteenth Century, neo-gothic revival building will ensure that the castle survives for many years to come.”
