Date: 30 Jan 2004
Works Starts at Sladen Estates’ Station Park Development.
Building work has started on unit 3 of Sladen Estates’ Station Park development in Sutton-in-Ashfield, which has been purchased by Ilkeston-based S & S Plastics.
The specialist plastic injection moulding company is relocating from Ilkeston, where it has been since 1989, to the 21,000sq-ft unit close to junction 28 of the M1. All 26 staff will be moving with the company and will be joined by 23 new locally-based employees.
Commenting on the company’s expansion and relocation Richard Munyard, S & S Plastic’s managing director, said: “We were rapidly out growing our current premises and needed a location that not only had good transport links, but could also provide the additional skilled members of staff that we need to support our expansion. I was very impressed with the quality of the Station Park development, which Sladen Estates has finished to an extremely high standard.”
With unit 3 now sold work is also starting on constructing the 23.00sq-ft unit 2, which will be built speculatively. Nick Sladen, managing director of Sladen Estates was delighted with the sale of unit 3 and anticipates strong demand for the remaining plot.
