Ashgate Development Services Limited has been appointed as project manager and employer’s agent on a high profile arts and entertainment venue in Dunstable, South Bedfordshire.

The scheme comprises a 750-seat arts and entertainment venue, designed to allow a broad range of uses including a theatre, a music and cinema presentation and function/exhibition areas. It also includes approximately 3,200 sq m (34,400 sq ft) of retail space primarily for bar and restaurant use.

Additionally, the project incorporates a 157-units of residential accommodation, a new, floodlit, synthetic turf sports pitch, the refurbishment of an existing public park area, extensive road improvements and the provision of new car parking.

A planning submission has been made and it is anticipated that a contractor will be appointed for the second stage of the tender process, with a start-on-site scheduled for Autumn 2004. Completion is due in early 2006.
