Terry Farrell and Partners - Mixed-Use Development - London, Greenwich Peninsula

Date: 03 Mar 2004

The Masterplan for the development of the Greenwich Peninsula has moved closer to reality with the issuing of the planning permission by The London Borough of Greenwich..

The Masterplan, by Terry Farrell and Partners, will provide a framework for a complete new mixed use district which fully integrates The Dome along with 10,000 new dwellings, 325,000sq.m. of business accommodation and all of the facilities associated with a complete new district in London.

The riverside setting of the peninsula is unique, and the Masterplan ensures that the benefit of the River Thames permeates the full width of the peninsula, linking in to the central linear park. A whole new riverside landscape is created at Meridian Gardens along with access to a new ‘beach’ at Draw Dock Road.

This way of working with the infrastructure of landscape on major projects in the Thames Gateway demonstrates the way in which Sir Terry Farrell’s wider vision of a “Thames Gateway National Park” could sit alongside the delivery of major new developments as London looks east for its future.
