ProLogis - Industrial Development - West & East Midlands and SE England, 2.2 million sq ft development in 2004

Date: 05 May 2004

ProLogis has announced plans to develop over 2.2 million sq ft of speculative buildings during 2004 on sites throughout the West and East Midlands and the South East of England; the plans are in addition to those projects already commissioned and in the pipeline.

The new speculative projects are:
166,000 sq ft at ProLogis Park, Didcot
190,000 sq ft at Aztec, Edmonton
310,000 sq ft at Oliver Road, West Thurrock
310,000 sq ft at ProLogis Park, Coventry
164,000 sq ft at The Fort, Birmingham
90,000 sq ft at Park Royal, West London
250,000 sq ft at ProLogis Park, Wellingborough
303,000 sq ft at Bermuda Park, Nuneaton
250,000 sq ft at ProLogis Park, Stoke
400,000 sq ft at North Kettering Business Park

Alan Curtis, managing director of ProLogis Developments Limited comments: "We have assembled a substantial land-bank this year, which has given us the flexibility to be able to respond to pressures from the distribution market for our built product. The construction of these new buildings will benefit from the methodology we have acquired through our fast-track ProShed, 50-day build programme."

The speculative building plans include the two speculative projects to be developed in the East Midlands following ProLogis's acquisition of some 380 acres in three sites and where the company plans to develop some 6 million sq ft. The ProShed system is already successfully underway on behalf of J D Wetherspoon for a 175,000 sq ft facility at Apex Park, Daventry.
