Date: 25 Aug 2004
Dansk Supermarkets, trading as Netto, has agreed to purchase a 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) food store at Turnstone Estates' mixed use scheme, St. Nicholas Park, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
Turnstone Estates is shortly to commence construction of the store and Netto will begin trading early in 2005, joining retailers Wickes, Choices and Farmfoods, who are due to open in October of this year.
Detailed planning permission was granted for the new food store as part of the 9-acre development to the north of the town centre, which includes residential units being developed by Broadland Housing Association.
Nick Scott of Turnstone Estates says, "Attracting such an experienced and recognised retailer reflects its confidence in this scheme, which when complete will provide valuable additional facilities for Kings Lynn."
Netto was advised by Mason & Partners.
The Plan for the new store in Kings Lynn is the latest stage in Netto's continued expansion. According to the latest research by AC Nielson, the world's leading marketing information company, Netto has emerged as one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK thanks to its smart shopping concept.
Claus Wędeled, Managing Director at Netto UK comments: "More and more shoppers are recognising the benefit of Netto where we are increasing shopping efficiency by driving down the cost and time it takes to shop. What we offer is no frills and lower bills."
