Nelson Bakewell - Offices Development - London WC2E, Davidson Building
Date: 02 Sep 2004
Nelson Bakewell have successfully completed the Project Management of the fit out of LECG's new offices in Covent Garden.
LECG is the global source for expert services. Their highly credentialed experts deliver objective independent testimony, authoritative studies and advisory services to leading corporations, law firms and government agencies worldwide. They have acquired the leasehold of the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the Davidson Building on Southampton Street, which is owned by Derwent Valley Holdings Plc.
The building has been named after the late Ian Davidson of architects Lifshutz Davidson who created a modern contemporary office building with a full height glazed atrium which runs behind the entire length of the original retained Victorian facade.
10,000 sq ft of the space was fitted out and a number of issues had to be overcome in order for the work to be completed in 8 weeks. In particular, the office configuration had to take into consideration the plenum floor air conditioning system as well as a need to avoid puncturing the architectural polished concrete soffit on each of the floors. The finished article is a high specification yet cost effective office, which uses a fusion of glass, polished plaster and timber to create a unique and stylish workspace.
