Savills - Appointment - Tim Doughty
Date: 14 Mar 2005
Savills has strengthened its commercial team in the Midlands with the appointment of Tim Doughty as a director of its Birmingham office.
Tim, previously of ATIS REAL Weatheralls, specialises in larger commercial developments, particularly in the edge-of-centre retail and mixed use markets.
He was one of the founding directors of Weatherall Green & Smith in Birmingham in 1994, where he was responsible for the firm's agency activities in the region and worked in the office agency and investment markets, before subsequently focusing on large-scale development projects.
Tim previously advised Michelin on the procurement and development of its European headquarters campus development in Stoke-on-Trent and Royal Mail on the redevelopment of the former Birmingham Parcels and Letters Sorting Office, now known as The Mailbox, the largest mixed-use development of its kind in the country.
Tim comments: "Joining Savills provides an enormous opportunity. The breadth and scale of the firm's development activities and the client base makes it a unique environment."
Tim will be advising Tesco Stores on the development of a number of major regeneration schemes in and around West Midlands including the £100 million Arena Shopping Park development in Coventry. He is also advising the National Exhibition Centre on master planning and redevelopment opportunities within its 650-acre (263-ha) site including promoting a development opportunity for a regional casino.
Barry Allen, head of Savills' Birmingham office, comments: "With over 20-years experience Tim has a strong reputation as one of the top development agents in the region with an exceptional understanding of the market. His appointment will provide clients with an even greater level of service in the development sector."
