Strutt & Parker - Industrial Development - Milton Keynes, TORC:MK
Date: 15 Mar 2005
Volume Developments, advised by Strutt & Parker, has acquired a 3.8 acre site in Kingston, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, for its first development project - a 80,000 sq ft speculative industrial scheme known as TORC:MK. The scheme is being funded by PPG Southern Ltd with the land having been acquired from local occupier Givaudan.
TORC:MK will comprise of a 12 units ranging in size from 3,700 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft available on a leasehold basis. Construction of the scheme is due to start late March; the first units being available late 2005.
Mark Abbott of Volume Developments said:
"Not only is this project the first for Volume Developments, but it is the first scheme of its kind in the Kingston area of Milton Keynes. Whilst there may be a number of opportunities for large scale sheds, there is currently very little stock to fulfil demand for high quality small units, so we are experiencing significant interest from regional and national occupiers for this space."
Charles Blake of Strutt & Parker's Industrial Department said:
"Kingston is one of Milton Keynes's prime industrial locations, within close reach of the M1 and with good access to local amenities, including a district centre. The scheme will offer space not currently available in the area, providing good opportunities for prospective occupiers."
