IntraLAN - General - Site in a Box

Date: 09 May 2005

Surrey-based IT and telecoms specialist IntraLAN has launched an all-in-one IT and telephony service specifically for the construction industry called Site in a Box.

Site in a Box provides a phone, email, broadband internet, fax and voicemail system from a single cable, running from an Anchor Box to all site offices, offering prospective customers significant savings in the time and cost of managing business-critical communications on a busy building site.

With all the services running across one line it becomes instantly easier for cabins to be relocated without unplanned disruption; meaning the phones will still work and everyone can still access their email, and you won't need any IT specialists on hand to reconnect everything.

Phillip Mitchell, IntraLAN's CEO, said: "It can be extremely difficult installing and maintaining internet and phone connections on a busy site.
Either it takes so long to get things hooked up that you have to start work on site without working phones and without email, or whenever the need arises to move the site office you lose all your connections because a load of cabling got ripped up in the process.

"We developed Site in a Box specifically to deal with these problems in a highly efficient and cost-effective way and we are confident that we have done so."

In addition to phone, email, broadband internet, fax and voicemail, Site in a Box can provide access to the head office network, file storage options and real-time site cameras using Webcams to enhance security.

IntraLAN can install Site in a Box, including all ISDN lines and BT analogue lines with only a three week lead time - that's just three weeks from initial order to having all site telephony and IT communications installed and working. And with a minimum contract term of just three months, that flexibility comes as standard.
