Edwin Hill - Industrial Sale - Manchester, Manor Road
Date: 30 Jun 2005
Didsbury Engineering, advised by Edwin Hill, has sold its 2.5-acre (1-ha) works site at Manor Road, Levenshulme, Manchester, for £1.275 million to Charlton Homes.
Clifton Works, which includes light industrial buildings, will be redeveloped by Charlton Homes for new family homes and luxury apartments.
The sale price represents £510,000 an acre.
Didsbury Engineering - which is one of the suppliers for the new A380 wide-body aircraft - has relocated to Brooke Park Industrial Estate in Wilmslow, Cheshire, where it has leased 19,000 sq ft (1,765 sq m) of light industrial accommodation. Edwin Hill also advised Didsbury on the leasing deal.
Richard Potter, head of agency at Edwin Hill, comments: "Didsbury's move to Wilmslow has freed up an important piece of development land on the outskirts of Manchester. It provides easy access to the A57 and junction 24 of the M60, making it an attractive location for commuters."
Charlton Homes was unrepresented.
