Jones Lang LaSalle - Offices Development - Amsterdam, The Schipol Centre
Date: 12 Jul 2005
Microsoft, advised by Jones Lang LaSalle and Microsoft Corporate Services, has signed a lease and development agreement on a new building at Schipol Airport near Amsterdam. Microsoft will lease circa 10,900 sq m of the 30,000 sq m property, to be developed by Schipol Real Estate, with exclusive expansion rights up to approximately 16,500 sq m.
David Hoekert, a Director at Jones Lang LaSalle in the Netherlands, commented: "The team worked hard to meet Microsoft's requirement for a well appointed property which would allow it to improve efficiency by moving to a single office location. The Schipol Centre, walking distance from Schipol International Airport, benefits from excellent amenities and infrastructure and offers Microsoft considerable cost savings."
It is anticipated that building design will be completed and the required permits obtained by year end 2005. Construction will start in early 2006, allowing for delivery in the summer of 2007.
Jones Lang LaSalle has a global agreement for the provision of real estate services to Microsoft, managing the EMEA account from its European headquarters in London.
