Savills - Retail Development - Milan, Milanofiori 2000

Savills' Milan office has been appointed by Milanofiori 2000, part of real estate development company Gruppo Brioschi Finanziaria, as sole agent to market its flagship retail park in Assago, southern Milan.

The 41,000 sq m retail park, called Milanofiori 2000, will comprise six "big box" retail units ranging from 3,000 to 18,000 sq m. The work is scheduled to start in December 2005.

The park is part of a larger mixed-use scheme which will include over 118,000 sq m of office buildings, 15,000 sq m of residential space, 7,000 sq m of serviced apartments, 10,000 sq m of retail space and 20,000 sq m of leisure space including restaurants, a multiplex cinema and a health & fitness centre.

Phase 1 of the project includes the retail park, three office buildings adjacent the Metro station and the "piazza" comprising retail units, the multiplex cinema and some residential units. This phase is scheduled for completion in December 2007.

The project will be served by the ATM Metro (green line). Work has already begun on the new Milanofiori Nord station with completion expected by the end of 2006.
