Forsters - Appointment - Archana Hogarth

Date: 22 Jul 2005

Forsters today announced a boost to its respected planning team with the appointment of Archana Hogarth as a senior planning solicitor. She joined Forsters in June from Campbell Hooper. Prior to that she was Head of Planning at Finers Stephens Innocent and previously was the principal planning solicitor at Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw.

Archana has more than 15 years experience of planning law and property development, covering a comprehensive range of town and country planning matters. She has particular expertise in large redevelopment projects and in complex Section 106 agreements, which will strengthen the existing high reputation in this area of the Forsters planning team led by partner Michael Cunliffe. Archana is recognised in Chambers Directory as a leading individual in planning and was also ranked in the 2004 Planning magazine Legal Survey in the "Highest Rated Individual Solicitors" category.

Archana has already assisted in putting together Forsters' recent successful tender to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust to handle the planning application for a £122 million redevelopment of its Stanmore site.

Whilst at Finers she acted for a developer in a major planning inquiry where she led her team into the development of 2,500 homes on brownfield sites including the negotiation of a complex Section 106 Unilateral Undertaking. Planning permission was successfully obtained following the three month inquiry.

"We are delighted that Archana is joining us" commented Forsters' senior partner Sophie Hamilton. "Our planning team under Michael Cunliffe already enjoys a strong reputation and Archana's presence can only enhance it."
