Totty Building Services - Offices Development - Dewsbury, Overthorpe C of E Primary School
Date: 01 Sep 2005
Totty Building Services has secured a £930K project from Kirklees Metropolitan Council to reconfigure existing classroom space at the Overthorpe C of E primary school in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Totty's ongoing relationship with the council has resulted in the contractor picking up contracts worth in excess of £6 million over the past three years, with a potential pipeline of yet more work planned for later this year.
The scheme will see Totty Building Services remodel existing classrooms within the school to create a nursery centre for reception pupils and a new dining hall. Demolition of four classrooms will be carried out to provide additional capacity for external play areas, together with construction of a new playground, hard and soft recreation areas as well as extending the school's playing fields. Additional security features will also be installed as part of the project, including new railings and gates.
Work on site is scheduled for completion by the end of January 2006. Philip Ryder, managing director for Totty Building Services, commented: "The successful delivery of a growing number of high profile projects for Kirklees MC, has further enhanced Totty Building Services' reputation within the public sector. Potential opportunities for Totty to formalise partnerships within the sector continue to be welcomed as they promote best practice and maximise efficiencies within the supply chain, helping to drive down costs and can significantly reduce the length of project programmes."
