TSK Group - General - London W1, Great Marlborough Street

Date: 02 Sep 2005

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), the international electronic entertainment giant, has unveiled its new high-profile boardroom at its London studio on Great Marlborough Street. Designed and delivered by Manchester based workplace environment specialist the TSK Group, the project has pushed the boundaries of audio-visual communication environments in both the technology and design techniques used. The ultra-modern environment developed for SCEE completely revolutionises the facilities previously available. The new boardroom will be utilised by the entire Sony Computer Entertainment Europe group, and will provide a fundamental tool for the presentation and marketing of landmark products such as the forthcoming Playstation 3 and Qualia projection and display products.

Mahesh Patil, IT Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe commented,

"The London studio is the most high-profile building for SCEE in the UK. The old boardroom was looking very old and tired, but the new environment created by TSK is in a completely different league."

When approaching the project, SCEE needed a contractor who could design the space, install and configure the equipment and deliver the finished product under tight deadlines. TSK's expert team were ideally placed to provide the complete solution, and once the designs were approved, the project took just ten weeks to complete.

With Sony Computer Entertainment Europe introducing pioneering electronic products themselves, TSK needed to develop a room that was 'future-proof', taking into account the forthcoming developments in the industry. Alan Marshall, head of the Communication Environments team at TSK commented,

"In order to adapt to future SCEE products such as the Playstation 3, which will have a High-Definition output, we needed to be ahead of the game with regards to technology; installing one of the first Sony Qualia high-definition displays in the country."

TSK was selected as the sole contractor on the project, following a recommendation from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Liverpool Studio. In 2004, the TSK Group was assigned to rejuvenate SCEE's Liverpool office space, creating a refreshed working environment tailored to SCEE's working practices. The team at Liverpool was so impressed that the London studio was advised to approach TSK rather than previous SCEE suppliers.
