Monk Dunstone Associates - General - North Cornwall & Bovington, £14 Million Appointment
Date: 02 Sep 2005
Bristol-based property and construction consultancy, Monk Dunstone Associates (MDA), has been appointed by the Heritage Lottery Fund as client advisor and project monitor for two projects in North Cornwall and Bovington.
The restoration of the Bude canals in North Cornwall, one of the most important historic canals in the UK, has received Stage One funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and £1 million from the Regional Development Agency. The scheme will restore the barge canal, improve facilities for visiting boats and help improve the local economic environment by encouraging tourism.
The second project involves the £12 million refurbishment and extension of the Tank Museum in Bovington, which will improve facilities and conditions inside the museum for visitors and help preserve the historical collections and artefacts. The Heritage Lottery Fund has again provided Stage One funding amounting to £8.55 million for the scheme.
MDA is on the Heritage Lottery Fund's framework to provide expert cost management advice for the South West region. MDA staved off competition from 100 applicants earlier this year for a place on the fund's top panel of professionals
