F&C Property Asset Management - Offices Development - Birmingham, Colmore Row
Date: 12 Oct 2005
F&C Property Asset Management has unveiled the newly refurbished 9 Colmore Row offices in Birmingham. The nine-month £9 million refurbishment brings 68,738 sq ft (6,386 sq m) of grade A office accommodation to Birmingham's city centre, which continues to experience a lack of high quality office space.
9 Colmore Row is one of Birmingham's prime landmark office buildings, located at the heart of the city's professional and financial quarter, right next to Snow Hill station.
The ten-storey building features large, open floorplates of 8,837 sq ft (821 sq m) and provides 65 secure onsite car parking spaces.
Daniel Plummer, F&C's Head of Out of Town Retail, said; "9 Colmore Row is a high profile building in the city's main business district. With this advantage of location, we expected to attract high calibre office occupiers and this is reflected in the top end specification of the refurbished space.
"There has been a shortage of high quality office location in the city for some time and this high specification office space with its large open floorplates has already attracted a significant amount of interest."
In addition to the removal of the green canopy that has sat between 1 and 9 Colmore Row for 17 years, the outwardly visible elements include a new public piazza, which is expected to be popular with the building's new tenants.
DTZ and GBR are joint agents on the scheme. F&C Property manages the building on behalf of Phoenix & London Assurance Ltd.
