Alder King - Mixed-Use Development - Frome, Commerce Park

Date: 14 Oct 2005

Developers Prospect Land Ltd have exchanged contracts on their first deal at Commerce Park, the new 64 acre mixed use business park on the A361 Frome bypass, according to property consultants Alder King.

Leisure operators Whitbread have purchased a prominent plot at the estate entrance for a Brewers Fayre family pub and restaurant and a 44-bed Premier Travel Inn, subject to detailed planning. Infrastructure for the first phase is under construction and will be completed in January 2006, enabling commencement of the Whitbread development. The new facility will provide a number of new jobs and will support the local community together with the large number of employees who in due course will be working at Commerce Park.

According to Simon Kingsley, Partner in Alder King's Swindon office, various parts of the scheme are already under offer. He said:

"We are delighted to have secured such a high quality operator, which underlines the developer's confidence in Frome as a location for a new mixed-use business park. We have had a high level of enquiries and are already in negotiation on several plots for various employment uses. We anticipate swift take-up due to the park's excellent location and the rare availability of freehold serviced land."

Joint Agents for Commerce Park are Alder King and King Sturge.
