Date: 01 Nov 2005

With a network of regional branches across England and Wales, commercial property agents Douglas Duff have appointed three new staff: newly-qualified surveyor Simon Sheath joins the Milton Keynes agency team; experienced building surveyor Ian Forbes FRICS has been appointed to the New Barnet office, and Richard Heyes FRICS has been appointed as Area Director based at the company's Chester office.

Simon Sheath, born and educated in Bedfordshire, graduated in 2003 at the University of Sheffield. He spent a year in the USA as a club soccer coach before taking an intensive M Sc RICS-accredited conversion course at Oxford Brookes University. He has now started his two-year assessment of professional competence (APC) and will be working with Douglas Duff's agency team on a range of projects in Milton Keynes.

Ian Forbes has worked in commercial and residential property surveying throughout his career, and he was previously with Simmonds & Partners in Hendon and Stanmore for many years. His role at Douglas Duff will embrace the wide range of subjects which now come under the building surveying umbrella, from project supervision of repairs and new-build schemes to inspections on behalf of insurers and whole-life building expenditure costings.

Richard Heyes, who has been a Senior Associate surveyor with Douglas Duff since 1998, has been promoted to Area Director of Douglas Duff's Midlands & North Valuation Division. Richard gained his Diploma in Estate Management at Liverpool University, and has a broad experience in all property matters throughout the North West region and North Wales, including the residential and commercial sectors. The offices which will now come under Richard's supervision are Birmingham, Bradford, Cheadle Hulme, Cardiff (valuations only), Chester and Stoke on Trent.
