Miller Developments - General Development - The Barnsley Miller Partnership
Date: 07 Dec 2005
Miller Developments and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council have renewed their development agreement for the Barnsley Miller Partnership (BMPL). The partnership will result in further development activity in line with the Council's focus to regenerate Barnsley.
The partnership works closely with inward investment agencies in order to ensure occupiers make the most of the help available including regional selective assistance and training grants.
Nick Harris, director of BMPL and Miller Developments, comments: "We are very pleased that Miller's development agreement with the council has been renewed. This ensures that our ongoing development programme can continue, resulting in further job creation in the Borough."
The BMPL has been involved with the development of Fields End Business Park in the Dearne Valley, a 30-acre (12.14 ha) reclaimed colliery site. Currently, the partnership is developing, in a joint venture with Cannock Developments, 93,000 sq ft (8,640 sq m) of office space and 47,000 sq ft (4,366 sq m) of industrial space, for which the first buildings will be ready for occupation in spring 2006. BMPL recently obtained planning consent for a further 93,000 sq ft (8,640 sq m) warehouse unit which will complete the scheme.
Harris continues: "Other similar schemes are currently being planned following the success of Fields End and this renewal of the partnership."
