Jackson Building Services - Retail Development - Essex, Airport Business Park

Date: 13 Dec 2005

Jackson Building Services has been appointed by Morley Fund Management to carry out a £450K retail project in Southend-On-Sea, Essex. The scheme, at the Airport Business Park, is the first project Jackson Building Services has carried out for the asset management specialist as it reviews its national retail portfolio.

The contractor will be tasked with converting an existing large format retail unit into two smaller outlets. Jackson will install a metal stud partition wall within the building to divide it in two and carry out enhancements to the existing entrance. A partial mezzanine floor will be constructed within one of the new units and a lift pit formed for a lift installation. The project is scheduled for completion by April 2006.

Michael Manning, construction director for Jackson Building Services, commented: "Enhancements to existing retail parks, reflecting the changing mix of tenants attracted to these out-of-town locations, represents a growing market for Jackson Building Services. As the specialist arm of a main contractor, we provide high levels of experience and project management expertise at a scaleable level, with the flexibility to deliver quality projects, up to £2 million in value, on time and within budget."
