HLM Architects - Offices Development - London SE18, Civic Centre

Date: 05 Jan 2006

HLM Architects has been appointed by the London Borough of Greenwich to design a new Civic Centre in Wellington Street, Woolwich, South East London.

HLM will develop the brief for the project, which forms part of a broad regeneration strategy for Woolwich, integrating public services with those they serve more closely; and providing further benefit to the local community by consolidating public services. It will comprise civic offices in support of public facing functions in a development likely to require circa 200,000ft2.

The scheme will embrace the concept of the Government's 'better ways of working' initiative to deliver a building which provides modern, flexible and efficient workspace, and inspire collaborative working and enhanced productivity.

A planning application for the scheme is expected to be submitted during the second quarter of 2006.
