Dean & Bowes - Mixed-Use Development - London N9, New Primary Care Trust Centre
Date: 03 Mar 2006
Dean & Bowes has secured a high profile £2.5 million fit out contract in North East London to create a new Primary Care Trust centre. The project is a key element of a major £100 million redevelopment of Edmonton Green in the London borough of Enfield, which is set to transform the fortunes of the area with new leisure, residential, retail and community facilities currently under construction.
The project for developer St Modwen Properties, will see Dean & Bowes fit out the newly constructed three-storey Primary Care Trust centre to a high quality, clinical standard. The new centre will house four GP practices and two dental surgeries across two floors, with the ground floor comprising the main reception area, health clinic, treatment rooms, and associated welfare facilities. In addition to the new dental surgery, the first floor will also accommodate doctors consulting rooms and specialist treatment areas.
Administrative offices, meeting rooms and staff areas are all located on the second floor, with Dean & Bowes constructing a plant room at roof level to house the building's mechanical and electrical services. Two lifts will be installed to provide access to all floors and Dean & Bowes will be responsible for installing a key feature of the new centre - a full height glazed atrium structure, providing light and a real sense of space within the centre of the building. The fit out phase will be completed by November, with the centre expected to open to the public at the start of 2007.
Jim Parker, managing director for Dean & Bowes, commented: "The opportunity to work on such a key note regeneration project in London highlights the company's growing reputation for successfully delivering high quality schemes. A major challenge we face is the sheer number of contractors that are currently on site, and we will be calling upon all of our expertise of working on crowded, fast paced projects to ensure a successful handover of the new community facility on schedule."
