ONE of the province's leading specialist construction companies has formed a new division to spearhead its expansion into aluminium systems.

Tyrone-based Western Building Systems which begins its 25th year in business next year, has made the decision in order to cater for its own growing modular business and to capitalise on the increasing market opportunities across Northern Ireland. The company will be investing in new machinery and a number of new jobs over the next few months as the aluminium systems' division gets up and running.

Managing Director, Martin McCloskey says the new division will manufacture a variety of aluminium systems from simple framework and partitions to complex multi-storied curtain walling.

"With the introduction of this new facility we will be utilising our extensive experience from our pvc division and construction techniques to offer architects, specifiers, contractors and developers a very wide range of competitive aluminium design options," the Managing Director explains.

In recent months Western has carried out aluminium projects for clients including: Coombe Women's Hospital, Dublin; Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown; National University, Galway and the Arklow Health Centre, Wexford.
