Jackson Building Services - Offices Development - Ipswich, Ipswich Town Hall

Date: 21 Mar 2006

Jackson Building Services is nearing the completion of a £1.4 million contract to upgrade Ipswich Town Hall, introducing a range of measures to enhance accessibility within the impressive Victorian building. A key element of the project is the installation of a new lift to serve all floors within the building, with Jackson carrying out a complex procedure to introduce a steel framed and brickwork lift shaft within the Town Hall.

Jackson Building Services has also installed disabled platforms and access ramps, created a new disabled toilet, constructed a steel frame plant room at roof level and installed new mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems at the ground floor level. As the project has involved working below the foundations of the existing buildings, the company has underpinned and installed new steel support beams to form a new entrance and open plan offices.
