Totty Building Services - Offices Development - Dewsbury, Overthorpe C of E Primary School
Date: 04 Apr 2006
Totty Building Services has successfully completed a £930K project to create a new nursery care centre at Overthorpe C of E primary school in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, for Kirklees Metropolitan Council. The company is working closely with the Council as part of a £multi-million programme to enhance and improve facilities at a range of schools throughout the area.
Totty rationalised space within the building to create the nursery care centre, remodelling existing classrooms within the school to create the new facility for reception pupils along with a new dining hall. Four classrooms were also demolished to provide enlarged external play areas, together with the construction of a new playground, hard and soft recreation areas as well as extending the school's playing fields. New railings and gates and other additional security features have also been installed.
Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "The company's ongoing commitment to the public sector, and especially the education arena, continues to pay dividends with an increasing volume and quality of projects awarded. Totty's longstanding working relationship with Kirklees Metropolitan Council highlights the real benefits of partnering and enables real value and efficiencies to be realised at all stages of the construction process."
