Fork Rent - General - 1,000 New JCB Machines

Date: 15 May 2006

Fork Rent has committed to buying 1,000 JCB machines of the highest specification and they will all be fitted with air-conditioning - a precedent not yet matched in the industry. Fork Rent Managing Director, Guy Nicholls, stated:

"The new machines reflect the growth of Fork Rents business and its continuing commitment to customer service. An example of our high spec ethos has been the introduction of air conditioning as standard to machines, ensuring a safer, more comfortable working environment for the operator. We've agreed that we'll buy 1,000 machines but I am confident that we will exceed it. This is our third major deal with JCB and both the previous orders were exceeded."

Another area that sets Fork Rent aside from its competitors is a strategy whereby telehanders are run to a maximum of 14 months old. Guy explains:

"It is normal for most companies to run machines to up to 5 or 6 years, we do not believe that to be the way forward. Our customers want a modern, safe, reliable machine that enhances their own company image. The new Loadall fleet will include JCB's Turbo 444 diesel engine, powershift transmission, fish eye mirrors, (over and above standard spec), and extra cab screen and roof guards".

Francoise Rausch, Managing Director of JCB Sales states:

"This is a tremendous endorsement of JCB's latest products and Fork Rent is a first class partner which has collaborated with JCB over many years. Its massive user base and experience provides our engineers with invaluable feedback."

Looking forward, the future of Fork Rent appears to be pretty well mapped out. With an ever increasing fleet and customer focused strategy, Fork Rent looks certain to succeed.

Guy summarises:

"We run high-quality, recent machinery which is reliable. If it goes wrong - however infrequently and wherever it might be - we'll get the local dealer to fix it. If it can't be fixed quickly then we'll simply swap it the next day. I don't believe anyone offers a better deal than that".

With this in mind, it's easy to see how Fork Rent attracts the plaudits it does.
