Rok Development - Industrial Development - Nursling, Swift Development Centre

Rok Development is making 'Swift' progress on the construction of its latest project at Nursling.

The 64,000 sq ft Swift Development Centre, which will become home to Sheffield Insulations Limited when it is complete, is already dominating the skyline of the M27/M271 junction on which it sits.

The impressive building occupies a strategic site at Nursling Industrial Estate. The building frame was completed in just three weeks from some 315 tonnes of pre-fabricated steel before being made weather-proof with the addition of its roof and exterior cladding.

Rok Development secured the pre-letting of the building to Sheffield Insulations, the UK's leading supplier of insulation and related products to the construction and industrial markets during 2005. A subsidiary of SIG plc, the firm will use the distribution centre as a supply point to provide materials for thermal and acoustic insulation for industrial and heating/ventilation uses, dry lining and fire protection.

"I'm looking forward to being able to hand the multi-million pound building to its new occupiers in the summer."

One of the busiest development companies in the region, Rok Development has a number of landmark projects currently in train. In keeping with its risk profile of pre-letting and pre-selling over 85% of its projects, the company which is part of Rok Group plc has already pre-sold the Swift Distribution Centre for £7.4 million to Allianz Cornhill.
