Totty Building Services - Offices Development - Huddersfield, Lowerhouses Junior Infant and Nursery School

Date: 08 Jun 2006

Totty Building Services has won its latest project under Kirklees Metropolitan Council's 'Children's Centres General Framework Arrangement'. The £660K scheme to create a new Children's Centre at Lowerhouses Junior Infant and Nursery School in Huddersfield, will see Totty construct a single storey timber frame extension to the existing nursery school, which will also undergo a programme of refurbishment.

The project includes the refurbishment of a single-storey adult accommodation centre, housed in a standalone building at the school, with work carried out during the summer holiday period to minimise disruption. The final phase of the scheme will see Totty construct a roof over an internal courtyard area to provide additional capacity for the existing staff room. Externally, a new play area will be created and an enlarged car parking area formed. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of October.

Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "The Council's framework agreement to upgrade school facilities continues to generate a range of opportunities for Totty, as we demonstrate our commitment to delivering high quality projects through safe and efficient solutions. Our longstanding partnership with Kirklees Metropolitan Council continues to grow in strength and we are working closely to add value and drive efficiencies at every stage of the construction process."
