Tuffin Ferraby Taylor - Offices Development - Surrey, Chessington Community College

Date: 23 Jun 2006

Independent building consultancy Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT) has been appointed by the Royal Borough of Kingston as project managers for the borough's biggest school development in 50 years.

TFT, under public sector team partner Paul Raymont, is co-ordinating the demolition and rebuilding of Chessington Community College (CCC). The practice heads an integrated team comprising project managers TFT, designers IID Architects and quantity surveyors RLF.

The £23m scheme is being funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DFES), as part of the Government's Building Schools for the Future programme to refurbish or rebuild every secondary school in England and Wales.

The school is due to open in September 2008, offering its students 21st century facilities; including vocational and ICT facilities amongst the best in the country.

"We're honoured to have been chosen by Kingston as project leaders," says TFT's Paul Raymont. "It's an extremely tight timetable, with very little room for error, but we're confident that we - and our colleagues IID and RLF - can deliver the goods."
