Tuffin Ferraby Taylor - Offices Development - Birmingham, Paradise Street

Date: 26 Jun 2006

Building consultancy Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT) has been a key player in the £1.8m restoration of Latham House; a landmark Edwardian office building in Birmingham's thriving city centre.

Our Birmingham commercial team, led by TFT associate Mike Richardson, acted as contract administrators and planning supervisors for Hortons' Estate, during the refurbishment of the Paradise Street property. Designed in 1911 by A. Gilbey Latham, the seven-floor office boasts nearly 2,500 sq m of office space, a flexible comfort cooling system for each floor, and a manned ground-floor entrance, suitable for meeting rooms or retail space. Typical floor plates are 370 sq m.

"The project has been completed with a great team ethic, which is reflected in the quality of the end product," said Mike Richardson, speaking at the official launch of the refurbishment on 21 June. "Latham House represents excellent office accommodation for smaller businesses or the perfect HQ building."

Nigel Foster, estate manager for Hortons' Estate, commented: "Latham House is now one of our most prestigious office developments in the city, providing up-to-date office facilities to meet the needs of today's businesses. TFT helped to ensure that the project was completed in time, and to an excellent standard, so that we were able to offer an excellent product to potential occupiers."
