Mantle - Industrial Development - Bishop's Stortford, Stansted Distribution Centre Phase 5 Gets Planning Consent

Date: 25 Jul 2006

Mantle has gained planning consent for Phase 5 of Stansted Distribution Centre, its industrial warehouse development at Start Hill, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.

Phase 5 comprises 12 new warehouse units, ranging from 1,953 to 8,577 sq ft (181 to 797 sq m), accommodating up to 65,000 sq ft (6,039 sq m). All units have fitted offices and are available leasehold at a quoting rent of £8.50 per sq ft (£91.50 per sq m).

Guy Baker, executive director of Mantle, comments: "This is a great opportunity to join a thriving industrial scheme, located with immediate access to Junction 8 of the M11 and a stone's throw from Stansted airport.

"As the scheme is in such an ideal location, we already have a lot of interest in the fifth phase."

Existing tenants at the 17-acre (6.9-hectare) scheme include Audi, Mercedes, National Express and Scania.

Mantle purchased the site in 1996 and later sold phases 1 and 2 to Irelandia Investments Ltd. Mantle manages Phases 1 and 2 on behalf of Irelandia and has retained ownership of the rest of the site.

Strettons and Coke Consulting are letting agents.
