Kitewood Estates - Mixed-Use Development - Herne Bay, £50m Business Park Development at Thanet Way

Date: 10 Aug 2006

Kitewood Estates has been given detailed planning consent for a new business park, the first phase of a 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sq m) mixed-use development at Thanet Way in Herne Bay, Kent.

The 37-acre (15-hectare) site at Blacksole Farm will provide accommodation for a range of uses, including a hotel, motor dealership, offices and industrial/warehouse space. The scheme is expected to attract a range of businesses and provide a catalyst for further regeneration in the region.

Construction at the greenfield site is scheduled to commence in September and the first industrial units will be available in summer 2007.

John Ayres, commercial director at Kitewood Estates, comments: "This scheme will create over 500 new jobs and help kick-start further investment and regeneration in the region."

Blacksole Farm is located a mile from the shoreline of Herne Bay and adjacent to the A299 Thanet Way.
