Douglas Duff - Mixed-Use Development - Milton Keynes, New Commercial Developments in Milton Keynes
Date: 06 Oct 2006
Two new commercial developments will soon provide industrial premises and office buildings on mature employment sites in Milton Keynes, to be marketed through Douglas Duff and joint agents. Construction work has just started on Paragon:MK in Denbigh West, Bletchley, and on Integra:MK at Linford Wood, and the accommodation is expected to be completed by the autumn of 2007.
"During the last two years, a number of re-development sites have come to the marketplace in Milton Keynes" commented Jonathan Whittle, commercial director at Douglas Duff. "This is an indication that Milton Keynes is losing its 'new city' label and has now matured into an established and cosmopolitan business centre. The regeneration of mature 'brownfield' sites and re-development of obsolete stock is taking on increasing significance in the local economy."
Paragon:MK will be developed by Volume Developments and PPG Southern as a substantial industrial/warehouse building of some 137,500 sq ft (12,774 sq m) on the former Wincanton Logistics site at Denbigh West. The re-development project is significant in two respects: it will provide state-of-the-art warehouse facilities for sale or to let, and it is the largest single building to be constructed in Bletchley for many years.
Integra:MK will provide a range of well-specified warehouse/business units, in a scheme totalling 137,000 sq ft (12,728 sq m) by Volume Developments and Develica on the former BAE Systems site on Foxhunter Drive, Linford Wood. With frontage onto both the B4034/V8 Marlborough Street and the A422/H3 Monks Way, major routes on the Milton Keynes grid road system, the units will range from 5,000 to 60,000 sq ft (465 to 5,574 sq m).
Expected to be ready for occupation late in 2007, this re-development scheme is aimed at high-value industries requiring quality business premises with a mix of offices and light industrial/warehouse space.
"We are expecting strong demand for these newly-constructed premises and welcome inquiries for both schemes" added Jonathan Whittle.
