Date: 08 Nov 2006

Alfred McAlpine, the support services group, today announces a series of new contract wins worth over £130m.

Alfred McAlpine has been awarded two new infrastructure services support contracts worth in excess of £50m. The first sees Alfred McAlpine extend its strategic highways partnership contract with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council for a further four years. Under this contract, which will now run until 2011, Alfred McAlpine provides inspection and maintenance services for the Council's roads, pavements and street lighting. The second win is a further two year contract with Fulcrum Connections for gas connections work in the north of England and Scotland.

Alfred McAlpine also announces that it has secured two new facilities management contracts worth a combined total of £65m. The largest of these is a new three year facilities management contract with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS Group). This is an enhancement of the existing preferred supplier contract with RBS Group, which was referred to in the interim results announcement in August. Under this new contract Alfred McAlpine will provide facilities management services across RBS Group's large office properties and its 643 branch network across the South East of England. The second win is a three year contract to provide a full facilities management service at Unilever's Port Sunlight, Walton-Upon-Thames and Kingston facilities.

Finally, Alfred McAlpine has secured a new contract to build a new leisure centre in Stafford and a contract with Derbyshire County Council to build a link road to the north of Ilkeston for the A6096 to Awsworth. The value of these contracts is approximately £15m.

Ian Grice, Group Chief Executive of Alfred McAlpine said: "Our markets remain strong and we continue to benefit from a good pipeline of opportunities. These wins again demonstrate our ability to build lasting relationships with established clients, based on the quality of our service delivery, and to continue to win new business which delivers long term visible earnings."
