White Young Green - General - London, White Young Green Acquires Adams Kara Taylor
Date: 14 Nov 2006
White Young Green (WYG), consultant to the built, natural and social environment, is pleased to announce that Adams Kara Taylor (AKT), one of the leading privately owned structural and civil engineering consultancies in London, has joined the WYG Group.
AKT is a progressive design led consultancy which, over recent years, has been recognised as one of the most successful cutting edge practices in its field, collaborating with architects, developers and contractors both in the UK and internationally. With over 100 staff, and an annual turnover of approximately £8m, AKT will significantly strengthen WYG's engineering capability in London, from where they will also play a leading role in influencing the future development of the overall company.
AKT was formed in 1996 by Robin Adams, Hanif Kara and Albert Taylor. Since then it has grown consistently on the back of a reputation for innovation, creativity and delivery and, as a consequence, has won numerous awards. Current projects include the Duke of York's Square development in Chelsea, High Cross Quarter in Leicester, the Phaeno Centre in Germany and the Asticus Building in London.
John Purvis, Chief Executive of White Young Green, comments:
"I am delighted that Adams Kara Taylor has joined the WYG Group of companies. Their reputation for excellence and cutting edge engineering will further strengthen our position in the strategically important London and export markets where they will work closely with our town planners, project managers, quantity surveyors, building services engineers and environmentalists to provide clients with the very best that this industry has to offer"
Hanif Kara, one of the founding Directors of Adams Kara Taylor, adds:
"AKT has successfully cut a 'design led' route through the market over the last 10 years by growing a culture that is renowned for frequently challenging the norm, attacking complacency and encouraging inquisitiveness. We strongly believe that fusing with WYG is a natural step which will allow our 'adaptive cell' to satisfy its needs, secure the talent of our second and third generations whilst working in concert with WYG to achieve the more complex task of ensuring a sustainable, but dynamic, intellectual and physical growth. We will enjoy immediate access to more resources and relish the opportunity to enhance the creativity and adaptability of the overall company''.
