Carillion - General - London, Carillion Wins Facilities Management Awards

Carillion has been recognised in three awards for partnership and innovation in its facilities management services.

Carillion Facilities Management has received two industry awards in the last month: the BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management) Award for Innovation in conjunction with client, Centrica and a PFM (Premises & Facilities Management) Award for its partnership with Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) in the Facilities Management category. In addition Monteray, Carillion's joint venture with Haden Building Management and Reliance Integrated Services, has won a PFM award with BT in the Business Change category.

Carillion has provided facilities management services to Centrica since April 2005. The BIFM Innovation Award was presented in recognition of Centrica's practical approach to implementing remote interrogation of its building management systems. Carillion was involved in providing training and managing the roll-out and integration of the system.

The PFM Partners in Facilities Management Award acknowledges the successful unification of the Carillion and Defra facilities teams to create a seamless 'One team...One service' culture across the London property portfolio. The roll out of the initiative across the whole of Defra's property portfolio is testament to the partnership's achievements.

The PFM Partners in Business Change Award, won by Monteray with BT, recognises the success of the working partnership in developing the Agile Working Support Service, part of BT's pioneering flexible working strategy. The management of work and meeting space across BT's major sites and the use of innovative IT technology means that BT employees needs can be fully met wherever they are, while at the same time the effective utilisation of workspace has significantly increased.

Carillion Facilities Management managing director, John Platt, said: "We are delighted that our service delivery on these contracts has been recognised by these three awards which demonstrate our innovative approach to unlocking value for our customers."
