Matthews & Goodman - Industrial Development - Stoke on Trent, Meir Park

Date: 06 Dec 2006

Henry Boot Developments Limited has submitted a detailed planning application to Stoke on Trent City Council for the next phase of development at the 18 acre former Staffordshire Tableware site at Meir Park.

The application comprises a 123,000 sq ft production and warehousing facility for insulation manufacturer Recticel (UK) Limited and a further warehouse distribution unit of 190,000 sq ft.

Adam Brady, Senior Development Surveyor for Henry Boot Developments' Manchester office comments, "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Recticel (UK) Limited in order to provide a state of the art manufacturing facility, which will bring back much needed skilled employment into the local area".

The new facility will supply the UK market with polyurethane insulation for the construction industry, which is currently supplied by Recticel's main production plant in Belgium.

Recticel's UK insulation division general manager David Kemp said, "the market for our high insulation value foam products has doubled and with the advent of the new building regulations which came into force in April, we expect further growth. Meir Park is ideally situated to meet our future logistical needs".

Robert Flello, MP for Stoke on Trent South comments, "the development proposals by Recticel and Henry Boot are great news for the local economy. The more manufacturers that recognise the talents of local people, the ideal location and come back to Stoke-on-Trent, the better".

Acting on behalf of Henry Boot Developments, Matthews & Goodman and Knight Frank have been instructed as joint agents for the scheme.
